Rapid Biological Inventories: Image Gallery: Perú 12

12 - Perú: Ampiyacu, Apayacu, Yaguas, Medio Putumayo

The map indicates areas where indigenous peoples from the Ampiyacu, Apayacu, Putumayo, and Algodón watersheds extract forest resources, including areas considered sacred and traditionally regarded as sanctuaries for plants and animals. The map was drawn in 2001, prior to the rapid inventory, through interviews with members of the 26 indigenous communities participating in the proposal to create this Reserved Zone.
