Rapid Biological Inventories: Image Gallery: Perú 12

12 - Perú: Ampiyacu, Apayacu, Yaguas, Medio Putumayo

Immense stretches of upland forest on low, rolling hills dominate the Ampiyacu, Apayacu, Yaguas, and Medio Putumayo region, with swamp and floodplain forests patchily distributed across the landscape. In this composite satellite image we highlight the towns and major rivers close to the inventory sites. Additionally, we identify the 28 communities inside and near the proposed Reserved Zone, and indicate their affiliation with one of the three indigenous federations in the region.
